Biological Soil Treatment

Whether on site, or in our soil treatment centre, SUC GmbH treats contaminated soil using micro-organisms as well as sophisticated technology and equipment.

Pre-tests are made to provide results regarding which micro-organism should be used, which treatment technology as well as the time and level of degradation. Besides biodegradation our technology involves dredging, crushing; sieving and homogenising. A wide range of re-uses of the treated soil ranges from landscape architecture to refilling on site.

Composting

The composting occurs in two authorized facilities. Required tech-nologies for this process are wheel loaders, sieve machines, shredder and compost converter. Organic input such as municipal sewage sludge, timber or bark mulch is subject to quality control. The produced soil is used for remediation of former mining areas and increasingly in agriculture, landscaping and gardening.

Sludge and Dust Treatment

Some types of sludge and dust cannot be disposed of without pre-treating them with regards to some of their ingredients and texture.

SUC GmbH has developed a special process in order to change the sludge and dusts characteristics. The treatment of these can be carried out on site or in one of our stationary treatment plants. The waste (sludge and dust) will be mixed intensively with several additives. As a result of the chemical reaction the characteristics will be changed remarkably.

The treatment causes a solidification and immobilisation of harmful substances; the alkaline pH value prevents any further biological activities (i.e. for sewage sludge) and the removal of heavy metals.

Compacting this product, it can become as hard as concrete and can be used as secondary building material in authorised areas (such as a ground layer for dumping sites or for coverage to seal off dumping sites etc.). Otherwise, the new waste characteristics allow the disposal at landfill without any problems.
